Experience in trauma and foster care:
Began work as a Family Service Worker for the State of Arkansas in 2004. Since this time, Jennifer has kept her passion for helping foster youth, including starting a position at a major behavioral hospital to facilitate care between foster youth and potential long-term placements.
Therapeutic approach:
I often use CBT as a general treatment method to help address depression and anxiety. I strongly believe "change your thoughts, change your life." This focus helps one to really consider the way they "talk" to themselves. As you gain better understanding and insight into unhelpful and problematic self-talk, we will work together to effectively explore, challenge, and change your language to decrease and eliminate negative symptoms.
I often use CPT to treat patients who have experienced trauma. This treatment method is highly effective for trauma work, as I have observed numerous clients experiencing significant benefits from it. By developing the skills to process their thoughts and emotions related to trauma, individuals can move beyond being "stuck" in a trauma mindset. My clients have achieved great success and experienced symptom improvement through their committed efforts.
I enjoy using Solutions-Focused treatment methods to really “move the needle.” It is effective in addressing challenges. It involves recalling past difficulties and the strategies used to overcome them. The aim is to apply these skills to current issues, promoting problem-solving based on previous successes.
YOU are capable and YOU are worthy — this treatment will help remind you of this!
